CSW’s Charge
   
  The Chancellor's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) was formed in 1987 and is comprised of representatives appointed by the Chancellor from members of the faculty, staff, and students at UCSD. The charge to the committee is:
  • to identify and analyze issues relating to the status of women at UCSD, including faculty, staff and students.
• to inform and educate the campus community about conditions that affect the status of women within the University.
• to advise and make recommendations to the Chancellor regarding policies and procedures that would improve conditions for women.

  • Sponsors New Faculty women receptions
• Sponsors New Staff women receptions
• Planning Mentorship Reception for Grad Students
• CSW Member Nominated to UCSD Diversity Council
• Supports Women’s Center activities including annual Day Care and Summer Options Expo and Take Your Daughter/Son to Work Day Programs
• Sponsors educational and networking activities for women in science and engineering (WISE).
• Gathers data and demographic studies including results of School of Medicine Climate Survey
• Instrumental in initiating the Gender Equity Study subcommittee for Ladder-Rank Faculty
• Instrumental in initiating effort for establishing Women’s Center
