Welcome to the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women’s (CSW) web page. I am extremely impressed by the hard work of the members of the Advisory Committee; dedicated faculty, staff and students whose commitment to gender equity can be seen on these pages. I encourage you to review the articles and links dedicated to improving conditions for women - and everyone - in our community. You will find the CSW’s Annual Report, as well as my response to the CSW’s recommendations. The Report is the result of hours of research and deliberation by the Committee members and describes the many important activities the Committee has sponsored over the last year.

We welcome your feedback on the CSW website, as well as the web sites for our other Chancellor’s Advisory Committees, the Diversity Council and the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues (GISOI). These pages are designed to demonstrate the many and varied efforts members of the campus community are making to enhance diversity at UC San Diego. Thus your ideas, critiques, concerns and hopes will be seriously considered. Diversity is a collective process in which we can all participate, so I hope you will make this web page yours by contributing to it.
