Women on the Move
Linda R. Doughty, director of the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP), was honored with a YWCA
Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) Award. Since 1994, Doughty has directed Cal-SOAP,
The California Student Opportunity and Access Program.
This statewide consortium of 23 educational partners, including UCSD, aims
to improve access to higher education for low-income students.

Women on the Move
Debbie Ambrose, a UCSD alumna and staff member for 16 years, became CSW’s new co-chair. Debbie co-organized popular workshops. She’s now organizing a program on successfully maneuvering through the academic review and tenure process. Debbie is Manager of Academic Personnel & Human Resources for the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department.

Congratulations to Alycia Mosley, the new president of GradWISE. (Graduate Women in Science and Engineering). A major contributor to CSW, Alycia recently coordinated the focus group for CSW’s ’07 MentorNet event. Alycia studies how genes influence cortical development in UCSD’s neurosciences graduate program.

Women on the Move
Robin Pollini was promoted from post-doc to Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. Robin was a CSW rep for post-docs and helped coordinate the ‘07 MentorNet event, which provided networking and mentorship opportunities for graduate students, postdocs and faculty.
